ABSTRACT
The use of numerous natural products derived from medicinal plants, specific animals like ants, snails, mineral ores, mushrooms, and a host of other sources is a common practice in Benin City. The bioactive chemical used in this study Investigations were conducted into the components of tailor ant extract. Collection of the tailor ants methanol was used to extract them from their nest, which served as their natural habitat. The ant crude extract was concentrated using a rotary evaporator (Model RE, 200, USA), and standard methods for screening bioactive chemical components were used. Obtaining the alkaloid fraction from the using infrared (I.R) analysis to characterize an ant extract separated by extraction. The findings suggested that terpenes, saponins, and among other things, the extract contained alkaloid.
