ABSTRACT
The study examined Investigation of the Causes of Indiscipline among Student with Hearing Impairment in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State. To guide the study, four research questions were raised and two of them were answered while two were hypothesized and tested at 0.05 level of significance.
The study was a descriptive research that adopted correlational research design. The target populations for this study were the hearing impaired students in two (2) special secondary schools in Oredo Local Government. Which are Ihogbe Senior Secondary school and Ivibore Junior Secondary in Oredo Local Government,. The sample size for this study was forty-two (42) hearing impaired secondary school students, which was the selected from two (2) Special senior secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
The findings revealed that; The study revealed that the effects of the media (i.e. the newspaper, the radio and television) on indiscipline on the academic performance of students with hearing impairment is to a high extent and the study also shows that gender influence on indiscipline and its effects on academic performance of students with hearing impairment are to a high extent It was therefore recommended that; Government and non-governmental organization should conduct awareness campaigns and sensitization programs within schools, communities, and among educators to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by students with hearing impairment. Government should do more in Provision of specialized training for teachers and school staff on effective communication strategies, teaching methods, and classroom management techniques tailored to students with hearing impairment.
