The purpose of this study is to investigate clay thickness using two dimensional electrical technique at the university secondary school area, Ugbowo Edo state. The survey technique utilized was the Dipole – Dipole Array in the two explored areas to delineath the subsurface. SAS 300 terrameter, 10 electrodes, 4 cables, 2 geologic hammer, measuring tape and a GPS device comprised the field equipment.
The data recorded after prospecting with maximum current electrode spacing of 10.00 meters. Geologic interpretation of the survey revealed the presence of sandstone, gravel and the clay deposits of resistivity values 500 – 10000ohm-meter, 100 – 600ohm-meter, 1- 100ohm-meter. The research study area may hold good prospect for clay deposit.
