Summary
The intervention programme was for the tackling the seeming rise in the cases of childhood diarrhoea at the New Benin Primary Health Care Centre. It aimed at reducing its occurrence, causes and mortality cases among children. The programme was deemed a success at the primary health care as parents, guardians, and staff adopted preventive and curatives measured proffered. Also health messages served as constant reminder to the parents whenever they visited the clinic and those who still had their hand bills to maintain behaviours adopted.
The intervention programme will serve as a step further towards the near total eradication of diarrhoea among children in Nigeria and serve as a wakeup call to the three tier of government on the urgent need to pay paramount attention to the health sector.
