SUMMARY
This project topic centers on the aspects of inter group relations between the Urhobos and Itsekiri of the nigeria delta region from the onset of their creation to present. Objectives of this research work to examination the origin of both cultures and how their relations have evolved over time.
Niger delta region is being divided into two major zone. Upper delta and lower delta. The Itsekiri Ethnic group inhabit the lower delta which is characterized by the mangrove vegetation, rivers and creeks their major occupation is fishing which is as a result of their environmental and natural resources [waterbodies] they engage in salt production through burning of mangrove trees, critical analysis of this view further proves that the geographical location of any ethnic group affects its occupational choice as well economics lifestyle.
