ABSTRACT
SIM registration was established for security/identification purposes. The registration is carried out in different registration outlets with applications/databases peculiar to each service provider. The process is plagued with certain challenges such as the use of fictitious data for registration, repetition of the entire registration process for every new SIM purchased, and the use of productive business time in visiting service outlets. This work proposes a model that addresses the challenges in the current mode of registration. The proposed Inter-network SIM registration model introduces a generalized web-based application/centralized database for the registration process, where user details are validated against a national database and the users do not need to visit registration outlets for SIM registration as they can do this from their internet-enabled devices and carry out the process from their comfort zones.
