INSURGENCIES AND THE NIGERIAN STATE’S FOREIGN POLICY

ABSTRACT

This study examines the Boko Haram Insurgency and Nigeria’s Foreign Policy objectives, through the findings of the study, the work discusses the History of the Nigeria State since 1980s, the History of Boko Haram Insurgency in Nigeria, Foreign Policy objectives of the Nigeria state since 2006, the impact of Nigeria Foreign Policy on combating Boko Haram, and the challenges in resolving the Boko Haram problem in Nigeria. Foreign policy is a government's strategy and approach to managing its relations with other countries and international organizations. It encompasses a set of principles, goals, and actions that a nation takes to safeguard its national interests, promote its values, and address global challenges. Foreign policy is a crucial aspect of a country's governance and diplomacy, and it often reflects a nation's priorities, objectives, and stance on international issues.
