ABSTRACT

The study examines the impact of insurance sector investment on Nigeria Exchange Group within the period of 1991 to 2021. The ordinary least squares econometric tool was employed to empirically examine the relationship. The study adopted the ordinary least square technique (OLS). The outcome of the study revealed that there is a negative and significant relationship between insurance premium and capitalization of the Nigerian Exchange Group. There is a positive and significant relationship between insurance investment and capitalization of Nigerian Exchange Group. There is a positive and significant relationship between total income of insurance companies and capitalization of Nigerian Exchange Group. The study however recommends that regulators ought to keep creating and enforcing laws that promote the expansion and stability of the insurance industry. A clear and supportive regulatory environment would boost investor confidence and stimulate additional investment, which will increase the Nigerian Exchange Group's (NGX) market capitalization. Promoting cooperation and joint ventures between insurance providers and organizations that are members of the Nigeria exchange group. Joint ventures and strategic alliances are two examples of initiatives that might generate synergies, draw in new investors, and boost capitalization.
