ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to analyze the Influence of Instructional materials and student's academic performance in public junior secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo state. Five research questions were raised to guide the study. The descriptive survey research design was used to carry out this study. The Population of the study comprises of students from twenty six (13) secondary schools in Oredo local government area and a sample size of 200 students were randomly selected from three of these secondary schools to carry out this study. This Instruments for data collection was the Questionnaire and the Simple percentage, frequency count and mean was used to analyze the data. The study revealed that Instructional materials are adequately available such as textbooks, Charts, Workbooks, Boards to help boost students performance in school. The study also revealed that Instructional materials have a major impact on the academic performance of secondary school students and that The Instructional materials should be in good working conditions so it can determine the level of academic performance of students. This study also showed that teachers have a major role to play in ensuring an effectiveness of x student's academic performance Iwith Ithe Iuse Iof Iadequate IInstructional materials. The school management also contribute to the adequacy of these Instructional materials.
