ABSTRACT
This study examined instances of corruption and power abuse in Okey Ndibe’s Arrows of Rain. It focused on the consequences and impacts of corruption and power abuse on individuals and the Nigerian society.
The study adopted a critical textual analysis of the novel using the post-colonial theory. Instances of corruption and power abuse in the novel are extracted and analyzed with the post-colonial theory.
The study found that the novel is a fictional reference to Nigeria because of its similarities with historical events that happened in Nigeria and the fictitious Madia.
