ABSTRACT
This study was designed to investigate the influence of student industrial work experience scheme on entrepreneurial readiness of graduating business education students in Public Universities in Edo State. Two (2) research questions were raised and literature of other researchers were reviewed. Using the descriptive survey research design, data was collected through the aid of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was structured according to the research questions and distributed to sample population of 100 respondents. Analysis of the data collected revealed that there is no significantly difference in male and female academic performance as a result of SIWES. Hence, there is no difference in the academic performance of either male or female students due to SIWES. There is no significantly difference in male and female entrepreneurial readiness as a result of SIWES. Hence, gender of students does not in any way affect the level of entrepreneurial readiness of students. It was however recommended that government should ensure that adequate supervision is given to SIWES students during their programme to help build seriousness in them; students should ensure that they give adequate attention to their SIWES programme so that they will be well equip for the real life experience; and that school management should ensure that students who fault in their SIWES programmes are adequately punished to serve as an example to other students
