ABSTRACT
This paper focuses on the influence of student industrial work experience scheme (SIWES) on the learning in Vocational technical education in tertiary institutions, Benin city. Four research questions were formulated to guide the study.
The study adopted descriptive survey design. The sample consisted of one hundred and twenty (120) randomly selected students.they also responsed to the questionnaires and the questionnaires were collected at the spot. These questionnaires were used in data collection. The output of the study were collected using four points rating scale of strongly agree(4), agree(3), strongly disagree(2), disagree (1).
The studies showed that siwes influences students practical skills in their workshop practice, the study also showed that the length of the siwes programmes determines the depth of the skill acquired by students, siwes has also helped students in understanding the concepts used in their course areas and also enables students to make better choice of career after graduation.
