ABSTRACT
The study covers five (5) chapters. The chapter have been summarized as follows: Chapter One of the study covered the background of the study, statement of the study, purpose of the study and research questions. It also covered the scope of the study, significance of the study, limitations to the study and finally definition of key terms. In Chapter Two the following area were covered: Meaning of socio-economic status in relation to academic performance of students, influence of parental education on students academic performance, effect of parental income on students academic performance, the impact of parents occupation on students academic performance and lastly the theoritical perspecperspective in relation to academic performance. Chapter Three delt with the study design, location of the study, population of the study, sample size, sampling procedure, research instruments, reliability of the research instruments, data collection procedure and data analysis. The Fourth Chapter of the study dealt with data presentation and interpretation. In this chapter the data collected was analyzed and presented in line with the study objectives. Chapter Five of the project covered: chapter summaries of the study, summary of the findings which was done according to objectives of the study, conclusion,recommendations and lastly suggestion for further study.
