ABSTRACT
This study has provided valuable insights into the influence social media has on computer education in secondary schools in Benin. The research findings clearly outline that students are exposed to a variety of social media devices such as smartphones, tablets, and school-issued devices and computers. Furthermore, it was also deducted that social media usage does have an impact on students’ academic performance and its usage does not significantly differ by gender. The findings of this study also concluded that under regulated and controlled environments, social media can be a significant tool to improve students' academic performance positively.
