ABSTRACT

 This research work highlights the influence of social media during the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria, specifically focusing on the role of social media in mobilizing and organizing the youth movement. The study examines the advantages brought about by the use of social media during and after the protest, as well as the future roles of social media in Nigeria. The research design is based on a survey method, and the population of the study consists of youths in the Oredo Local Government of Edo State. The sample size was determined using the Taro-Yamane sample determination formula, and data will be collected through a self-structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The findings indicate that social media played a crucial role in mobilizing and organizing the #EndSARS protest, allowing for widespread coordination and effective communication among protesters. The study also reveals the advantages of utilizing social media platforms during and after the protest, such as the unification of youth voices and the promotion of police force reformation. Furthermore, social media is seen to have a significant role in Nigeria's future, serving as a platform for public opinion and political discussions. The abs  tract concludes by highlighting the impact of social media, particularly Twitter, in influencing the #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.
