ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of sex education on the Attitudual Behavior of secondary School students in Ikopha okha local Government Area Edo State Nigeria
The study adopted survey design and population study consisted 15,630 students in 20 senior secondary schools in Ikopha Okha Local Government. Test retest method was used to determine reliability of the instrument Five(5) secondary schools were selected and Four research questions were formulated to direct the study.
Result of the study showed that Students are of the opinion that unwanted pregnancies, abortion and School drop out are mainly as a result of poor knowledge and lack of information on Sexuality Education, majority of the students believe that the sexual behavior of students who learn sex education is better than those who do not learn sex education. So there is need for Students to be more aware that the goal of sex education is beyond the knowledge of one's sexuality.
Sex activities or sexually transmitted diseases, but a lifelong process of acquring information and forming attitudes, belief, and values about identity, relationship and intimacy. Sex Education should be included in the scheme of work and school be well implemented in school system. Sex Education should be incorporated into television programmes, magazines, newspaper and article, so as to educate the masses especially the young ones. Sex Education t will improve the state of Womanhood, manhood and family life and would reduce the areas of sexual impropriety in the society.
