ABSTRACT
The study investigated the influence of school politics on undergraduates’ educational pursuit in University of Benin, Benin City. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. The sample size for the study was made up of 150 students. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. An analysis of data was done using mean score and standard deviation. The findings from the study include that there is a high level of students’ participation in school politics in University of Benin. It was concluded that enhancement of communication skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills and the art of healthy rivalry constitute some of the positive influence of school politics on undergraduates’ educational pursuit in University of Benin. The study among others recommended that policies that will ensure student participation in campus politics and make meaningful contribution to their academic achievement should be encouraged among students.
