ABSTRACT
This study was to analyze the influence of school environment on Teaching and Learning of vocational subjects in Technical colleges in Edo State. (A Case Study Of Egor Local Government Area of Edo State). Some Secondary school students currently learning Vocational Subjects in Technical colleges were used for this study. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire, which was developed and administered to the secondary school students and teachers of Government science Technical College. The data from their responses were analyzed with the use of four point rating scale. The findings from the study revealed that condusive classroom, Library facilities, qualification of technical teachers and location of technical schools influence student's performance to a high Extent. The analysis further revealed that to a high extent lack of qualified Teachers hinder workshop practice in Technical colleges in Edo state. Finally, it was revealed that students’ poor learning attitude hinder workshop practice and learning of vocational subjects to a high extent. Based on the findings it is therefore recommended that the government should wake up to their responsibility by ensuring that adequate funds are provided to improve the quality and standard Technical colleges across all colleges in Nigeria.
