ABSTRACT
Today the developments of Nigeria educational system and student’s academic achievement have placed many demand on the effectiveness of Business Studies Teachers. One of the demands is that schools should graduate students with employable skills. This study examined the ways in which teachers training and development was related to effectiveness of the teacher. A population of 42 Business Studies Teachers was selected from eight (8) schools five research questions were raised and a structured questionnaire developed by the researcher was used to elicit responses. It has been concluded training and development to positively related to teacher’s performance. It was recommended that quality training programs for teachers may be introduced as it has significant co-relation with student’s performance.
