The study investigated how the Influence of Teachers' Qualification and Experience on Secondary School Students' Performance in Computer Science. Three research questions were raised to guide the study. The population comprises of all secondary school teachers in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State with total number of two thousand, four hundred and twenty-one (2420) while the sample for the study comprised hundred (100) out of hundred and fifty-three (153) teachers was randomly selected from ten (10) out of hundred and twenty-one (121) Senior Secondary Schools' having qualifications such as B.Sc., B.S.Ed., B.Ed., NCE without PGDE with relatively different level of experience.
A structured questionnaire titled: The influence of qualification and experience of computer teachers on the academic achievement of secondary school students in external examination was used for data collection. The questionnaire was validated by the researcher's supervisor as well as two other experts in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology while the Cranach’s alpha reliability method was adopted to ascertain the reliability of the instrument which yielded a co-efficient index of .815. Data were analyzed with mean and standard deviation.
The study concluded that experience and/or level of qualification influence the performance of Computer students in external examinations. Students taught by qualified teachers tend to perfume better in examination than students taught by unqualified teachers.
