ABSTRACT
This study tends to investigate the influence of principals’ leadership style on teacher’s job performance in some selected secondary schools inOvia North East Local government area.
The study was guided through the literature review. The population for the study was made up of 321 teachers of both sexes. Out of this population, a sample of 20 teachers from 5 secondary schools was selected from the population for the purpose of the study making a total of 100 respondents in Ovia North East Local Government and the sample was selected through the simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection. The questionnaire have two parts, part (A) demography of teachers, part (B) relates question on the influence of principal leadership style on teacher’s job performance.
The instrument was validated by the supervisor and another lecturer from the Department of Educational Management. The instrument tend to be reliable after it was administered to 20 respondents who are not part of the population but were excluded from the study sample. The questionnaire items were analyzed using simple percentage, means and tables.
