ABSTRACT
This study focuses on the influence of n-power programme in the reduction of unemployment among business education graduates. The study employed four research purposes to guide the study.
This research adopted descriptive survey design; the sample size for this study consist of 100 business education post graduate students in university of Benin, Benin city.. The research instrument used to collect data for the study was a structured questionnaire, the instrument was administered to 20 students in the Department of curriculum and instructional technology (CIT), who were not part of the study but are of the same characteristics. The data collected was analyzed using the cronbach alpha statistics which yielded a result of 0.76 implying that the instrument is highly reliable. The questionnaire was administered by the researcher with the help of 2 research assistants. Mean and standard deviation were the statistical tools employed for the analysis of data collected with the questionnaire.
The findings indicate that N power teach program reduce unemployment of Business Education graduates to a high extent and that N power build program reduce unemployment of Business Education graduates to a high extent. Finally the study recommends that government should take more steps towards diversifying a knowledge economy. The Programme is a 'Training to Jobs' initiative that will engage and train thousands of young unemployed citizens in order to build a new crop of a skilled and highly competent work force of technicians, artisans and service professionals. This is because the study revealed that the extent N-Power knowledge program reduces unemployment of Business Education graduates in Edo State is low and that the scope of the N-power training programme should be extended to include technical skills, managerial skills and Business skills.
