ABSTRACT
In secondary schools in Edo State's Ovia North East Local Government Area, this study was designed to explore the influence of mother tongue interference on English language ability.
These research questions were designed to empirically carry out the study based on this research effort. The underlying issues of the research were:
i. Is the student's English language process influenced by instructors' activity in the classroom in Ovia North East Area of Edo State?
ii. Does the learning environment for the students in the Ovia North East Area of Edo State have an affect on how English is taught and learnt there?
iii. Does the availability of teaching aids and instructional materials impact how effectively English is taught and learnt in the Ovia North East Area of Edo State?
