ABSTRACT
This study was designed to examine the Influence of Literacy Education on Manpower Development of Estako East Local Government Area, Edo State. In other to achieve the objectives of this study, four research questions were raised.
Adult literacy programmes in the area include leadership education, family life education, fashion designing, shoe making and financial management. Adult literacy has made impact on the self-concept of the individual and also on manpower development by improving their economical status and creating more source of livelihood. The strategies to improving manpower development in Estako East Local Government include the acquisition of literacy skills, provision of leadership education, including of training skills in the curriculum and enabling them gain access to loans to be able establish business after completion of literacy programmes.
