ABSTRACT
This study was intended to examine The influence of learning barrier on the academic performance of adult learners in Benin metropolis . This study was guided by the following objectives;1. determine the effect of socio-economic on academic performance of adult learners; 2 establish the effect of home environment on academic performance of adult learners 3. identify the effect of learning background/environment on academic performance of adult learners .The study employed the descriptive and explanatory design; questionnaires in addition to library research were applied in order to collect data. Primary and secondary data sources were used and data was analyzed using the chi square statistical tool at 5% level of significance which was presented in frequency tables and percentage. The study findings revealed that ,there is no significant difference between school background and home environment on academic performance of adults learners.
