The target population of the study consists of two hundred fifty eight thousand four hundred and forty two (258,442 )community members from eighty (8) communities in Egor local government area such as Okhoro, Use, Uwelu, Iguikpe, Ugbighoko, Iguediaye, Evbougide and Oghedaivbiobaa ,with sample size of one hundred (100) community members were drawn from four (4) communities in Egor local government area, using simple random sampling techniques.A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The questionnaire was validated by content and face by my project supervisor and two other experts in the Department of Adult And Non Formal Education, Faculty of Education; while the test- re test reliability method was adopted to ascertain the reliability of the instrument. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation.

The study reveals that the community acknowledges ongoing projects but lacks detailed information. Infrastructure like roads and healthcare improves, but social amenities are overlooked. Residents seek more projects, especially in road construction and water supply. Some leaders dominate decision-making without resident input. Democratic leadership styles positively impact engagement and transparency. Collaboration and trust-building enhance efficiency, but securing funding remains challenging. Effective communication and addressing stakeholder resistance are crucial for success. Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendations were made for the study: Community leaders should improve project communication, prioritize social amenities, and address infrastructure gaps, focusing on roads and water supply. Local governments should foster inclusive decision-making and provide leadership training. Governments should promote democratic leadership, encourage collaboration, and support effective community engagement. Leaders should explore diverse funding, enhance stakeholder communication, and advocate policy reforms.
