INFLUENCE OF LABORATORY EXPERIMENT ON THE LEARNING OF SOLUBILITY OF COMPOUNDS

ABSTRACT

The study investigated the effectiveness and challenges of online learning platforms in Computer Education. Five research questions were raised to guide the study. The study underscores that online learning platforms offer unparalled accessibility and convenience, 5 making computer education widely available regardless of geographical constraints. The population of the study comprises of two hundred and thirty seven (237) students from 100, 200, 300, and 400 level computer education students while the sample of the study comprised fifty (50) students randomly selected from 100, 200, 300 and 400 level computer education students. A well-structured and well-validated questionnaire titled “Effectiveness and Challenges of Online Learning Platforms in Computer Education” was the instrument used for data collection. The instrument was thoroughly reviewed and validated by my project supervisor, and it was found to be reliable. The data were interpreted and discussed using percentages and frequency table. The results showed that online learning can be as effective, if not more, than traditional classroom settings. Interactive elements, self-paced learning, and the ability to revisit content contribute to improved comprehension and skill acquisition. online learning platforms also face challenges.These include issues related to engagement, the digital divide, technical difficulties and concerns about cheating in online assessments. Students often require additional support and guidance in the online learning environment to succeed, including clear instructions, interactive content, and access to instructors or support staff.
