ABSTRACT
The study aimed at examining the influence of instructional material utilization in learning plant photosynthesis in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. One research question was raised to guide the study.
A review of related literature was carried out. The method adopted by the researcher is the descriptive survey research design. A total of one hundred students in public secondary school in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area constituted the population study sample. The instrument used for gathering data from the selected sample was a questionnaire. The reliability of the instrument was established at 0.73 using Cronbach statistics. The data collected were analyzed using frequency, simple percentage and mean.
The findings of the research revealed that more than 80% of the respondents agreed that instructional materials on the learning of photosynthesis in plant in biology among senior secondary school students have a good influence on secondary school students in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. It was recommended that; there is a need to formally incorporate the use of instructional material into the academic curriculum in secondary schools since photosynthesis in plant as a topic in Biology is taught in senior secondary schools.
