ABSTRACT

This study looked at how instructional materials affected English language instruction and learning effectiveness in public junior secondary schools in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The study specifically employed a descriptive survey research methodology. There were four research questions that guided the study. Data collection was accomplished by creating a questionnaire. The study's sample size consisted of one hundred instructors. The study questions were answered using the mean and standard deviation, while the respondents' demographic data was answered using frequency counts and percentages. Based on the findings, the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State's public junior secondary schools' English language instruction and learning are significantly impacted by the instructional materials used. Consequently, it was recommended that the government provide enough instructional materials to ensure that secondary schools carry out English language instruction in an efficient manner.
