ABSTRACT
The study determined the influence of Information and Communication Technology on the job performance of secretaries in government parastatals in Edo State. The population of the study comprised 171 confidential secretaries in government parastatals (Ministry of Education) Edo State. Given the small size of the population, the entire population was used as the sample size. The instrument used to elicit opinions and facts from confidential secretaries was a questionnaire titled “Influence of ICT on the Job Performance of confidential Secretaries Questionnaire (IICTJPSQ). The questionnaire was segmented into two sections; A and B. Section A measured the demographic variables (gender and experience) of the respondents while section B was subdivided into five (5) clusters. Each of the clusters was made up of six (6) items totaling 30 item statements. The instrument for data collection was validated by the researcher's supervisor and two other experts from Business Education unit, Department of Vocational and Technical Education, Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City. To determine the reliability of the instrument, it was administered once to twenty (20) confidential secretaries who were not part of the study population, but of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Benin City. Thereafter, Cronbach Alpha statistics was used to determine the internal consistency of the items which yielded a high reliability coefficient of 0.71. Data collected from the respondents were analyzed using mean (𝑥̅), Standard Deviation (SD) and two sample independent t-test
