In order to direct the investigation, three research questions were raised and answered while two hypotheses were formulated and tested. Correlational survey design was adopted for this study. The population of study was six thousand four hundred and fifty-five students while the sample was two hundred and sixty-four (264) students drawn from four (4) randomly selected secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area. A self-structure questionnaire with reliability coefficient of 0.71 was used as instrument for data collection. The data collected were analysed using Pearson Moment correlation. Correlation statistics was used for testing hypotheses and other descriptive statistics were presented in mean, standard deviation, frequency tables and percentages. Findings from variables investigated showed that there was a significant negative correlation between the extent of substance use and attitude of student’s to learning (r -0.25, p<0.001), a significant correlation existed between the level of risky sexual behaviour and attitude of students’ to learning (r 0.16, p<0.01). It was recommended, among others, that there should be a periodic awareness campaign on substance abuse and risky sexual behaviours with their consequences to students in schools. This will serve as a wakeup call to majority of students who may be acting in ignorance. The study concluded that high-risk behaviours (substance abuse and risky sexual behaviours) have a negative influence on students’ attitude to learning in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
