INFLUENCE OF FAMILY INSTABILITY ON CHILD UPBRINGING

ABSTRACT

The study examines how family instability affects children's learning in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The research objectives are pursued through the investigation of five different topics. In Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, data were collected from 75 randomly selected respondents from 15 public secondary schools. The tool used to collect data is a questionnaire. The research design of the study was a descriptive survey. Using mean scores and standard deviations, data were analyzed. As selection criteria, an average score of 2. 50 was retained for the criteria. The findings of the study include causes of family instability in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State including extramarital problems, lack of communication, financial difficulties and conflict of interest. It was concluded that family instability greatly affects children's education in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. Therefore, among other things, the government should enforce strict divorce laws to prevent couples from suddenly ending their families at the expense of their children.
