ABSTRACT
The study investigated the influence of educational challenges of hearing impaired students on their academic performance in Benin Metropolis. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and answered. The descriptive research method was adopted for the study. The sample size for the study was made up of 103 respondents. Data collected from the respondents was analyzed using descriptive statistics, precisely frequency count and percentages. The findings from the study include that there is a low extent of availability of resources for the teaching of hearing impaired students in Benin Metropolis. It was concluded that the instructional challenges affecting the hearing impaired students in Benin Metropolis include communication barrier, inadequate access to hearing aids, lack of textbooks and insufficient assistive technologies. The study recommended among others that government should prioritize the implementation of inclusive education policies that ensure equal access to education for all students, including those with hearing impairments.
