ABSTRACT
This research seeks to examine the influence of e-learning on academic performance of senior secondary school students in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
This study employs a descriptive survey design and a sample size of one hundred and fifty (150) students. The selection of the sample size of students is done using "simple random sampling technique" and a structured questionnaire is used as the instrument of data collection and the method of data collection is questionnaire which involves face to face conversation. Method of data analysis is done using frequency count and simple percentage.
Findings have shown that the major reason why students have low or no competence on the application of E-learning to enhance their academic performance is due to lack of basic adequate infrastructure and well equipped computer laboratories in some selected secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. Findings also showed that E-learning raises interest and performance of students generally. The study investigates the fundamental reasons for E-learning, the roles of E-learning on academic performance, how E-learning can improve the quality of education among some selected secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The recommendations laid out based on the problem stated is the need for provision of basic adequate infrastructure and well equipped computer laboratories in secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
