ABSTRACT
This study examines the influence of domestic violence on student academic performance among University of Benin Students, Benin City. The study designed adopted survey which was used to source data from targeted respondents. The data collected was analyses using simple percentage.
The findings revealed that there is relationship between the influence of domestic violence on students’ academic performance and the negative impacts on their academic performance. The result shows that there is relationship between the level of influence of domestic violence on students’ academic performance and their ability to cope with lecture room work.
The study recommends that government and various authorities should provide better opportunities and solutions of students under the influence of domestic violence with strict policy that enables the students to focused well on their academic. Since the influence of domestic violence affect student academic performance positively and negatively, this study suggest that victims under the influence of domestic violence should seek for a better guidance and counseling.
