ABSTRACT
This study investigated the Influence of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Socio-economic Contributions of Community Development Associations in Ughelli North Local Government Area. In order to achieve the purpose intended, six research questions were raised. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The sampled population of the study was 120 respondents randomly selected from six communities within Ughelli North local Government Area. The instrument for the study was questionnaire which was validated through expert judgement approach. The data collected were analyzed using frequency count and simple percentage.
The findings from the study revealed that Community Development Associations in Ughelli North Local Government Area which were Functional and engage in various socio-economic activties was negatively influenced by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In view of the findings made, the Study recommend that the Government and Community Development Associations should try to bridge the gap created by COVID-19,More health facilities should be provided in the various communities, Community Development Associations should be able to help themselves and also seek assistance from Government through matching grants, The Government should set things in place for emergency and they should learn to use Community Development Associations to reach the people. Finally, Community Development Associations should have reserved emergency funds and other means of communication apart from face to face.
