ABSTRACT
The study investigated the influence of counselling on drug abuse among junior secondary school students in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and answered. The descriptive research method was adopted for the study. The sample size for the study was made up of 100 respondents. Data collected from the respondents was analyzed using descriptive statistics, precisely frequency count and percentages. The findings from the study include that there is low prevalent rate of drug abuse among junior secondary school students in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. It was concluded that there is a significant extent to which counselling influence drug abuse among junior secondary school students in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The study recommended among others that there should be collaboration between the government and relevant educational stakeholders so implement policies and regulations that discourage drug use in secondary schools and in society at large.
