ABSTRACT

The study was concluded to establish the influence of business education curriculum on entrepreneurial skills of University of Benin graduate. The study was necessitated by the continuous decline of University of Benin graduates entrepreneurial skills which has resulted into escalating unemployment, social vices and economic hardship amongst others. The study also employed descriptive survey research design. The population of the study consisted of 144 of business education graduates operating their own business in Edo State of Nigeria and 84 employees of these businesses. The sample size of the study consisted of 144 drawn from the entire population of the study. The study revealed that: Personality skills are skills that enable business managers to manage emotions, temperament, anger and personal interest. Communication skills are skills that enables business managers to express their opinions and transmit information within and outside the business environment. Human relations skills enable managers to maintain cordial relationship among members of the enterprise. Management skills which involve ability of manager to plan, organize, direct and control human and material resources of an organization. Business skills which involve identifying and conceiving business ideas. All these skills influence the development of entrepreneurial skills in the recipients of business education and entrepreneurship progammes. It was recommended that government sector, private sector and the law making agency to ensure steady and effective curriculum polices and entrepreneurial skills for business education graduates.
