ABSTRACT
This study was designed to examine the Influence of adult Literacy Education programmes on the Socio-Economic Well-being of Women In Egor Local Government Area, Edo State. In other to achieve the objective of this study, four research questions were raised. In the findings of the study it was found that adult literacy programme in the area include family planning, basic literacy, health and environmental community education and vocational education. Adult literacy has made social impact in the development of women by improving their social status, public association, hold leadership positions and influences, social personality. Women have been developed economically through adult literacy programme by making them acquire skills for income generation. The strategies to improve women social-economic development include the acquisition of literacy skills, provision of health education programme, including of training skills in the curriculum and enabling them gain access to loans.
The study therefore concludes that Women development is not only imperative but also crucial for all round development of the society and nation as a whole.
