The essay explores protestation, childlessness, patriarchy and polygamy as causes of infidelity in marriages. A close examination of The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives shows that women involve themselves in extra marital affairs as a protestation against female barrenness stereotype, patriarchy and polygamy. In view of this, feminism forms the base of this essay.
