ABSTRACT
It should depress us that our encounter with the white man has left us with many economic, social and psychological problems to contend with. To expose and deplore this ill is the kernel of this project.
The research is divided into five chapters: Chapter one consists, the introduction- which shows us the different definitions of culture, indoctrination. Also, we have the statement of the problem. Here, we see how the Europeans invaded Africa and discredited our customs, traditions and cultural heritage. This project aims at showing us the effects of European culture that was imbibed in Africans. Furthermore, we have the significance of this study, the scope and the research methodology- that is, the various materials that led to the success of this work.
Chapter two is the literature review which includes the various works of writers and comments which are related to the topic of my writing. Chapter three deals with the themes in Chimamanda’s Purple Hibiscus. Chapter four is on the characterization showing the contrasts.
Finally, chapter five concludes and summarizes this research work.
