ABSTRACT

This project focuses on the integration of a solar inverter system into a 9kg LG T9585NDHVH automatic top loader washing machine to reduce operational downtime and increase profitability, particularly in areas with unreliable electricity supply. The primary objective is to develop a washing machine that can seamlessly switch between grid power and solar energy, ensuring uninterrupted operation even during power outages. By harnessing solar power through an inverter, the system not only reduces dependence on conventional electricity but also offers a sustainable and cost-effective solution for energy consumption.

The design process involved selecting appropriate solar panels, inverters, and batteries to match the energy demands of the washing machine while maintaining efficiency and reliability. To ascertain the best specifications for the inverter system, a thorough modeling and evaluation process comprised the first step. Two 300W monocrystalline solar panels, one 1.5 Kva 12v inverter and one 100ah 12v dry cell battery were used for this project. Furthermore, a 30a PWM charge controller was included to enable smooth integration with solar panels and maximize the system's ability to use renewable energy sources. The system design and component selection might be improved iteratively to match the project's unique goals. Meanwhile, for the process of forming components, methodological studies were used to plan the project production process using flow charts as a reference for planning, production and testing.

Experimental testing demonstrated the system's effectiveness in minimizing downtime and providing a consistent washing experience, especially in rural and remote areas. Consequently, the project had an average electricity savings rate of 32.76%. These findings support the conclusions drawn from the analysis that the solar washing machine has achieved the objectives discussed. This innovation presents a practical approach to enhancing the resilience of household appliances against power disruptions while promoting the use of renewable energy.
