This study was carried out to investigate the effect of ethanol extract of Ocimum gratissimum on the in vitro antioxidant activity, hematology and histology parameters in Rabbits. Fifteen (15) rabbits were divided into five (5) groups of three (3) each. Group 1 (standard silymarin group) were given 100mg of silymarin per kilogram body weight of the rabbit, Group 2 were given ethanol extract of Ocimum gratissimum at a dose of 200mg/kg body weight of the rabbit, Group 3 received ethanol extract of Ocimum gratissimum at a dose of 300mg/kg body weight of the rabbit, Group 4 (cyanide group) was passaged with just potassium cyanide only, Group 5 (control group) were fed with just rabbit feed and water only. The administration was done via oral gavage, once daily for 21days. On the 22th day, the animals were humanely sacrificed; whole blood collected for hematological investigation and their organs (liver, kidney, heart.) were harvested for histological study.
