ABSTRACT

In Nigeria, telemedicine has great potential to enhance healthcare delivery and accessibility, especially in rural and underserved regions. However, challenges such as limited internet connectivity, infrastructure gaps, and lack of awareness hinder its widespread adoption and effectiveness. This study aims to assess the current accessibility of telemedicine services in Nigeria and propose strategies for enhancing its integration into the national healthcare system. Through data collection from extensive literature review and the public, key challenges and opportunities were identified. Findings highlight the need to expand internet infrastructure, promote digital literacy, and foster multi-stakeholder collaboration. Policy support, public awareness campaigns, and quality assurance mechanisms are proposed to facilitate telemedicine integration into the national healthcare system. These strategies aim to address barriers and enhance healthcare access for all Nigerians.
