IMPORTANCE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY TO VISUAL ART EDUCATION IN UNIVERSITY OF BENIN, BENIN CITY, EDO STATE

ABSTRACT

This research investigated the importance of Information Communication Technology. to University Of Benin, Benin City, Edo State. The study was guided by research questions and a review of existing literature. Using a case study design, the study surveyed 52 respondents from the Vocational and Technical Education Department of the University. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson’s product correlation coefficient. The findings revealed that ICT tools are essential to the study of visual art education in the area. Based on these results, the study recommends that ICT tools and media be used in the effective teaching and learning processes of visual art education among teachers and students in the University of Benin.
