ABSTRACT
This study investigated the importance of digital learning to the staff and students of library and information science of University of Benin. For the purpose of the study, five research questions were formulated to guide the research. Descriptive Survey research design was adopted for the investigation while the study population and samples consists of 100 staff and students of library and information science students of the University of Benin, Relevant data were collected from the sample through personal contact method. The data collected were presented in Tables and analyzed using descriptive statistics comprising of mean. A criterion of mean score of 2.5 was used as the benchmark for the purpose of decision making. The findings analyzed include: that the major advantage of "The importance of digital learning to the staff and students of library and information science students of the University of Benin is that: Digital learning allowed learners not being restricted on time and space. Also, the digital learning mode could systematically and completely record all online teaching materials and learners’ learning history. The Internet covers rich and diverse information that learners could acquire data simply by searching key words Based on the findings, some recommendations were made which include: The education sector should be properly funded especially by the government. The practice of digital education in Nigeria will become effective when adequate ICT infrastructures are made available.
