IMPLICATIONS OF MANAGEMENT APPROACHES FOR ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT IN DEEPEND CINEMAS BENIN CITY, EDO STATE

ABSTRACT

This study, focused on the implications of management approaches for organizational growth and development in Deepend Cinemas Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. It was discovered that Deepend Cinemas is harnessing several management approaches to run the cinema; although, not without some major challenges. Personal Observation and interview techniques were adopted. At the end, it was observed that funding and organizational bottle-neck are some of the major challenges against utilizing effective management approaches at Deepend Cinemas. The study further examined what should be done in terms of management to influence the growth and development of cinemas in Nigeria; especially at Deepend Cinemas. The paper was concluded by making useful recommendations of the work for better management practice and effective adaptation of management approaches. The recommendations are that: Cinema managers should capitalize on the advantage of management practice to enable them survive in the entertainment industry, Managers should do well to apply various management approaches where it is deemed necessary to harness the day in day out activities of the cinema, the research also recommended that cinema owners have a role to play through providing trainings on management practice in order to enable them discharge their duties and tackle whatever challenges that may arise, Management of Cinemas should ensure that the requirements of its audience are met to a very significant point and that, only well trained practitioners should be the ones allowed to operate in the cinema.
