ABSRACT

This paper presents the implementation of Effective management of a school library's inventory plays a pivotal role in facilitating learning and research within educational institutions. This study explores the development and implementation of a user-centric inventory management system for a school library, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and user satisfaction.

The study begins by emphasizing the importance of user-centered design, wherein the system's interface and functionality are tailored to meet the specific needs and capabilities of librarians, students, and teachers. It highlights the significance of clear data entry methods, such as barcode scanning and data validation, to maintain data accuracy and reduce errors.

Categorization of inventory items by logical criteria is discussed as a strategy to streamline organization and retrieval. The inclusion of borrower management features is examined, allowing for efficient tracking of borrowed items, setting due dates, and sending automated notifications.

Furthermore, the study underscores the utility of reporting capabilities for decision-making and future planning, including the identification of popular materials and guiding purchases. Security measures, such as user authentication and access control, are highlighted to protect sensitive data and user privacy.

Scalability and integration considerations are emphasized, as the system must accommodate growth in the library's collection and smoothly integrate with other school systems. Backup and

recovery procedures are crucial to prevent data loss in unforeseen circumstances.

Lastly, the study advocates for ongoing feedback mechanisms, usability testing, documentation, training, and compliance with relevant regulations. A cost analysis is recommended to align system development and maintenance with the school's budget.
