ABSTRACT

The study examined the impact of workplace romance on organizational performance. Two research questions were raised to guide the study what is workplace romance and organizational performance? What are Workplace romance effect on individual performance? This study used a survey research design. A survey research approach was adopted since the study was descriptive and explanatory in nature. The sample size for the study was estimated using the Taro Yamane's (1967) equation, which is a normal approximation with a 95% confidence level and a 5% error tolerance. The findings from the study revealed that workplace romance is an intense passionate desire to be in the presence of one’s romantic partner. It revealed that more people are neutral about work romance being an intimate exchange of personal disclosure, thus it is not exactly what work romance is to the respondent. It revealed that workplace romance is the involvement in a romantic relationship between two members of the same organization with similar or different classifications. It further showed that workplace romance is the pleasant emotional state such as, need for satisfaction, attention, and sexual gratification.
