ABSTRACT
It can be seen that violent conflicts have played a great impact on the inter-group relations in the country, inter group relations such as Itsekiri, Ijaw, Urhobo Ukwari, Aboh among others, specifically in the Niger Delta. There have set to be violent conflicts that have existed among these inter-group relations in Nigeria, and which impact has led to death of loved ones, injuries and causalities, displacement of millions, disruption of social and economic system and these violent conflicts has been cased as a result of arm proliferation high unemployment poverty rate, politicization of security agencies and the appropriation of security agencies.
Violent conflict have been referred as the inherent of at least two or more parties using physical force to resolute competing claims or interest.1 It has further been define as a state of unrest or absence of peace.2 It is said that violent conflict in Nigeria has started even before the independence period, the conflict resulted from political, economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions which preceded the united kingdom formal decolonization of Nigeria form 1960 to 1963.3 It is said that conflict is inevitable and unavailable on the human society, and that is why conflict happens in almost every areas of the human lives and it cannot be avoided, it is sad to happen in the lives of every human being violent conflicts is sad to have causes more harm than good in the human lives, it has caused a lot of damages which have resulted to loss of loves and properties, injuries or wound, population displacement, destruction of assets, disruption of social and economic system, destabilization of health, education and economic, political instability among others. The causes of violent conflicts among others. The violent conflict has eased among these intergroup relations for a long period of time and has causes a great grave and ingenuity among these inter-group people. The impact of violent conflict on the inter-group relations has resulted unto many chaos and disaster which has brought perm to the inter-group people whereby they lost valuable things as a result of violent conflict that existed. There is loss of lives and properties where people lost their valuable materials and even lost their loved ones, there is loss of lives and properties where people lost their valuable materials and even destruction of infrastructural materials such as road, budges, rail vary, health care center, houses, school among others.
In resourcing violent conflicts that existed, the use of diplomatic measure should be taken into bond, the use of Negotiation, mediation arbitrator and adjudication has played a key role in helping to resource fuse conflict. Violent conflicts is prevent in every society whether underdeveloped, developing or developed.5 The involvement of diplomatic measures have really helped a lot in resourcing or reducing he tension of violent conflict especially in the country.
The use of Negotiation process mediation process, arbitration process have really helped in preventing further escalation of violent conflicts and it has also helped in aiding the break out of violent conflicts in the human society Negotiation process has to do with dialogue designed by trend Negotiation acting on behalf of a particular organization or position resource a dispute and Purdue an agreements on matters of mutual a vein to parties in a dispute.6 While mediation has to do with the fund party or a mediator purposes a non-binding solution to a controversy between the two or more actors in conflicts.7 Adjudicator has to do with a procedure in which a dispute is submitted by agreement of the parties to one or more arbitration who make a binding decision on the dispute.8 Adjudication is sad to be one of the commonest approach or method of non-violent conflict management thus approach is used when a third party in a conflict offers a binding decisions on a conflict through an institutionized tubular such as court after hearing and ongoing the claims of the adjudication are binding with hortative and final.9 it is sad that violent conflict have courses a lot of damages to the well-being of the human lives and even country.
The implications of violent conflicts include, destruction of infrastructural facilities in Nigeria, it has ruined many economic successes, it has chased among many foreign investors, violent conflicts has brought about increase in the crime rate, and also increased in society spreading violent conflicts is said to have been a topic in the country that the government and non-governmental organizations is well concerned about because it has causes more chaos and challenges to the country itself. Violent conflict can be prevented through these peace measure such as peacemaking, peace building, and peacekeeping, peace binding has to do with addressing the root of the violence or conflicts and providing possible measure in aibing.10 it, peacemaking has to do with making sure that the conflict did not escalate into a secure issue by making use of the peace agencies such as the blue Benet the order to maintain and secure peace in the society in the country where one these peace keeping on the other hand has to do with preventing the conflicts or disputes from happening, and this has also played a key role in maintaining of peace and security in the society or aunty today.
The impact of violent conflicts on inter-group relations in Nigeria and it was resulted into many negative impacts. The negative impacts of violent conflicts on the inter-group relations was to do with loss of lives and properties destruction of critical infrastructure such as road ralivary, bridges, unse, health, hearth are also led to displacement of population and it has also led to destabilization of economic, health and educational system.
Violent conflicts have played a very negative key role among the inter-group relations in Nigeria and the government and non-government organization should help in providing possible solution to curb these violent conflicts that have existed or occurred among the inter-group relations in Nigeria.
